Grace Church began when God called Nick and Penny Sharp to plant a Newfrontiers church in Nottingham. They promptly moved from the church in Surrey where Nick had been on staff for many years and began gathering a small group of people in their home in the Autumn of 2002, moving to Sunday meetings in January 2003.

Nick says that God gave him a clear vision of what Grace Church was to be like: "God put it on my heart to build a church which was a loving family - a place to belong, grow and serve - yet at the same time to be a family on a mission - to reach this city and beyond with the gospel. I knew He also wanted it to be a church deeply rooted in the teachings of the Bible, and because of that, strongly charismatic".

From those early days, the church has been characterised by reaching those who don't yet know Jesus, training leaders, thorough Bible teaching and vibrant, charismatic worship, where the gifts of the Spirit are freely used and the presence of God is experienced. God has grown us into the hundreds, with small groups meeting midweek across the city and a Sunday gathering at Notts County Football Ground.

 Grace Church is still very much a family and there is still a huge mission ahead of us - in Nottingham, the surrounding region and the nations!
