The city is located just off the M1 motorway, in the East Midlands, north of Leicester and south of Sheffield.

Greater Nottingham has a population of over 665,000 and is the 7th largest urban area in the UK.

Many visitors are attracted to the city because of its rich history including Nottingham Castle, the 19th Century Lace industry and the Legend of Robin Hood.

Various events hosting national and international artists are held at the prestigious National Ice Centre as well as other venues across the city.

The city has two main shopping centres (Victoria and Broadmarsh) and two universities (University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent), with a student population of some 60,000.

Public transport includes buses, a tram route from the train station to the north of the city, as well as an extensive network of cycle paths around the city.

Together with the Trent cricket ground, Nottingham also has two famous football clubs, Nottingham Forest and Notts County; the latter being the venue for Grace Church Sunday meetings.
